Agro-Industrial Foundation College of the Philippines (AIFCP) is a maritime and technical college in
Davao City. It was founded in 1978 by Captain Serapion C. Basalo, who wanted to build another maritime school in Davao City. The captain started the school with a four-room building accommodating students taking bachelor's degrees in Marine Transportation and Marine Engineering and a short course in Basic Seaman. The location of Agro was initially difficult to access since it
was situated in a swamp; however, now, after 40 years, the school has developed with improved facilities, like having concrete steps to walk on and laboratories for simulations.
At present, AIFCP is offering bachelor's degree programs in
Marine Transportation and
Marine Engineering. TESDA courses are also available like Front Office Services, Housekeeping, and Shielded Metal Arc Welding, all of which lead to a
National Certificate (NC). Aside from these maritime and technical courses, the school also provides programs for
Kindergarten, Junior High School, and
Senior High School students. The Senior High School department, in particular, offers the
Academic and
Technical-Vocational-Livelihood (TVL) track, with both tracks offering strands in
Maritime Specialization.
