What does Center for Asian Culinary Studies, Inc. - Manila stand for?


Center for Asian Culinary Studies (CACS) is a private school established in 2000 by Gene Gonzalez, a well-recognized chef in the country. Alongside Gene Gonzales were Junjun De Guzman and Gino Gonzalez, two of the country's prominent personalities in the culinary industry, take part in operating CACS. Together, they envision an institution that produces competent chefs who can compete well in the professional world. CACS currently has another campus located in Davao and Pampanga. 

The school immerses its students in a wide range of culinary courses which include the following: baking and pastry, cooking, wine, health nutrition, chocolate artistry, and food business management. The institution also ensures that the courses provide students with an in-depth knowledge Asian cuisines like Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Brunei, Vietnam, Laos, Myanmar, and Cambodia.

CACS provides professional chef training programs through its modern and top-of-the-line cooking equipment from Europe and United States, all of which are installed in the classrooms. The institution believes that equipment can help the students who are planning to establish a career in culinary arts have an immense experience. The school also has its own restaurant that serves as a professional training ground for the students. Recently, CACS has been recognized as an authorized course provider of certificate programs for culinary arts under FoodSHAP Food Safety Training and Examination System.

  • CACS is under consortium with De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde to further its purpose of providing quality education in culinary arts.
  • The courses are recognized by the Department of Health (DOH) and accredited by American National Standards Institute.
  • CACS is one of the first culinary schools in the Philippines to receive Level IV accreditation from the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA).
