UNDERGRADUATE/BACHELOR'S DEGREE PROGRAMS

Additional requirements for previously graduated applicants (graduation year is prior to the current school year):
For applicants from schools in the Philippines or schools abroad under DepEd and did not enroll in any college/university after graduation:
  1. Original and photocopy of Grade 12 Report Card
  2. Certification from the high school principal regarding the student’s F137-A.
    Contents of the certification are as follows:
    1. The student’s Form 137-A is still in the school file
    2. The student’s F137-A has not been forwarded to another college/university
Additional requirements for foreign nationals:
  1. Alien Certificate of Registration (ACR) or Special Study Permit (SSP)
  2. Original and photocopy of Passport
Additional requirements for graduates of Non-Formal Education Accreditation and Equivalency or graduates of Alternative Learning System Accreditation and Equivalency:
  1. Certificate of Rating (with passing marks in all subjects)
  2. Learner’s Permanent Record (AF-5) with eligibility to college
Additional requirements for graduates of Associate Degree Programs:
  1. Transcript of Records
  2. No failing grade
  3. Weighted average of at least 2.00 or its equivalent, excluding Religion, PE and NSTP
  4. Honorable Dismissal/Certificate of Transfer Credential
  5. Photocopy of Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) paper
  6. Photocopy of the Certificate of Good Moral Character
  7. Certified true copy of F137-A
Additional requirements for applicants coming from schools abroad (except for Filipino schools under DepEd):
  1. Scholastic Records, duly authenticated by the Philippine Foreign Service Post located in the student applicant’s country of origin or legal residence; if the country or territory of origin is already a member of the Apostille Convention, authentication of the Philippine Foreign Service is no longer necessary. Click here for the list of countries included in the Apostille convention.
  2. Certificate of completion of secondary education (senior high school / grade 12 or its equivalent)
  3. Certificate of Good Moral Character or Recommendation from the School Guidance Counselor or Principal
  4. For Filipino applicants:
    1. Birth certificate printed on Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) paper
    2. Original and photocopy of Filipino passport
  5. For foreign nationals:
    1. Alien Certificate of Registration (ACR) or Special Study Permit (SSP)
    2. Original and photocopy of data page of the applicant’s passport showing date and place of birth, and birth certificate or its equivalent duly authenticated by the Philippine Foreign Service Post.
    3. Five (5) copies of the Student’s Personal History (PHS) duly signed by the applicant, both in English, and in his/her national alphabet accompanied by his/her personal seal, if any, and containing, among others, his left and right thumbprints and a 2x2 inch photograph on plain white back-ground taken not more than six months prior to submission of his/her documents.
    4. A notarized affidavit of support including bank statements or notarized notice of grant for institution-al scholars to cover expenses for the student’s accommodation and subsistence, as well as school dues and other incidental expenses.

GRADUATE SCHOOL PROGRAMS

  • An official transcript of records showing the award of the baccalaureate degree in engineering or any related program by a recognized institution of higher learning, and one photocopy of the transcript.
  • A request for “transfer of credentials” from the Registrar’s Office of the school where the baccalaureate degree was obtained. Mapúa graduates are exempted.
  • At least two letters of recommendation from previous professors and/or current employers.
  • Two copies of accomplished application forms with 2” x 2” (identical) pictures.
  • Additional requirements for international students:
  • For non-native English speakers
  • A score of at least 500 in the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) exam is required.
  • The application form and all supporting documents shall be forwarded to the Dean of Graduate Studies. An application will not be processed until all required credentials have been received. Applicants are advised to arrange for the transmittal of all documents well ahead of the application deadline.
  • All first-time applicants are required to pay a non-refundable application fee of P400. For non-resident foreign applicants, the application fee is US$50 payable to Mapúa University in cashier’s check or postal money order.
Note: For BS-MS, Post-Graduate Diploma, and Master’s programs - All candidates for admission shall be subject to approval for acceptance by the Dean of Graduate Studies and the Head of the respective graduate program with a GWA of 2.50 or better, or its equivalent. For Doctoral programs - All candidates for admission shall be subject to approval for acceptance by the Dean of Graduate Studies and the Head of the respective graduate program with a GWA of 2.00 or better, or its equivalent.
  • Diagnostic Test: Applicants for the Master of Engineering Programs are given diagnostic tests in Engineering Mathematics, Computer Fundamentals, and Technical Communications. Those who obtain scores of 70% or better in each test shall be exempted from registering for the equivalent course.
  • Interview: The Dean of the School of Graduate Studies or the Program Coordinator will conduct an interview with the applicant prior to admission.
  • Notice of Admission: If qualified, an applicant will receive a letter informing him of his admission to the program. The admission is valid for one year. If the applicant fails to complete any graduate course or a portion of the prescribed program within this period, the acceptance lapses and the student will be subjected to any newly adopted requirement upon application for readmission.
  • Conditional Admission and Retention for Post-Graduate Diploma and Master’s programs: A graduate student is conditionally admitted if his average in professional courses is below 2.50. He will be dismissed from the program if he fails to get a GWA of 2.00 or higher after completing 12 units of the program. Under this term, the student is not allowed to withdraw any course. The grade of “I” (INCOMPLETE) is equivalent to “4” in the computation of the GWA.

SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL PROGRAMS

Additional requirements for Junior High School completers who did not enroll the following school year in Senior High School:
  1. Original and photocopy of Grade 10 Report Card
  2. Photocopy of certification from the high school principal stating that the applicant’s Form 137-A is still in the school file and has not been forwarded to another school.
Additional requirements for foreign nationals:
  1. Alien Certificate of Registration (ACR) or Special Study Permit (SSP)
  2. Original and photocopy of Passport

IMPORTANT REMINDERS:
  1. Applicants with at least 85% General Weighted Average (GWA) and final grades in Science, Mathematics, and English in Grade 9 are exempted from taking the Mapúa Scholastic Aptitude Examination (MSAE).
  2. Applicants who attended Non-Formal Education Accreditation and Equivalency or completers of Alternative Learning System Accreditation and Equivalency shall be required to take the MSAE.
  3. All applicants who are interested to study senior high school in Mapúa, regardless if they are exempted or not in taking the exam, shall provide all admission requirements.
  4. Applicants exempted from taking the MSAE may confirm their slots by paying the non-refundable reservation fee of Php 5,000 online or at the Mapúa Treasurer’s Office starting August 19, 2019.
  5. The application is considered official once a receipt has been issued (for MSAE takers).
