Edith Cowan University
Edith Cowan University (ECU) was established in 1991. It was named after Edith Dirksey Cowan, the first woman to be elected to an Australian Parliament. She dedicated her life to the belief that education was the key to growth, change and improvement in society. ECU has three campuses - Joondalup and Mount Lawley in metropolitan Perth and the South West Campus at Bunbury.
ECU offers more than 300 courses in the fields of Medical & Health Sciences, Engineering, Education, Arts & Humanities, Business & Law, Nursing & Midwifery, Science and the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts. These courses are available for undergraduate and postgraduate students. These courses are developed in consultation with industry, and educators have extensive industry experience and networks. This is why their students can expect fieldwork and practicums as part of their learning experience.
ECU's approach to education has been rewarded with a five-star rating for the quality of teaching over the past years, along with consistent high ratings for overall education and skills development as stated in the Good Universities Guide.
