Queensland University of Technology (QUT) was established in 1849 and was initially named as the Brisbane School of Arts. It underwent a number pf changes to its name until 1990 when it gained its current name. QUT has two campuses: the Gardens Point Campus, which is where students of business, law, and science and engineering are based; and the Kelvin Grove Campus, which is where students of creative industries, education and health students are based. Both campuses offer high quality learning, teaching and research spaces to better meet the needs of students, academics and researchers.
QUT has received recognition for providing qualiity education. In the 2016 Academic Ranking of World Universities (Shangai Jiao Tong), QUT was ranked in the top 300. They were also placed in the 201-250 bracket in the Times Higher Education World University Rankings for 2016-2017. QUT's Science and Engineering Centre has also received international awards and is home The Cube, one of the world’s largest digital interactive learning and display spaces. QUT also established the world's first Creative Industries Faculty, and they invest heavily in collaborative learning and interdisciplinary research environments.
